Pianist and composer, Laurier has created music for more than a hundred theatre and dance productions. His work has been heard in several cities across Quebec and Canada, as well as on stages in Europe — including the Venice Biennale, the Opera d’Avignon, the Opera de Rennes, and the Opera de Massy — and in the United States and Asia.

After early studies during which he was a prizewinner at the Canadian Music Competition, he earned a Master’s degree in piano from the Universite de Montreal at the age of 21, supported by a scholarship from the Fonds de recherche du Quebec. He went on to collaborate with several of Canada’s leading directors, including Robert Lepage, Serge Denoncourt, Claude Poissant, Denis Marleau, Eda Holmes, and Eric Jean, as well as with choreographers Christophe Garcia and Virginie Brunelle. He also worked as a radio producer at CBC/Radio-Canada, where he received a Silver Medal and Special Mention at the New York Festivals Radio Awards, along with the Judith-Jasmin Award for Arts and Culture from the Quebec Professional Journalists Federation.

Laurier’s music seeks to illuminate the intimacy of our lives from within. Rooted in the contemporary theatre and dance scene — winner of the Gascon-Roux Prize for Best Music at the Theatre du Nouveau-Monde — Laurier is now preparing his first solo album:
